Forged this from 12" of 5/8" round 4150, quenched in oil and torch tempered blue up to the tip. 22 3/4" from tip to butt, POB is 2 3/4" in front of the knucklebow, weight is a little under 1/4 of a pound. It's very tactical/combat weapon, so the parachord I will put on will be nice, debating on black, camo, or blood red. Very similar in design to old bayonet styles. Dropped it point down into concrete a couple times with no ill results, so I stabbed it in a couple times with no ill results, then stabbed it a bit into cinderblock, again no ill results.

I'd go with red! That's pretty dang rugged (and evil) looking!

Have you considered a leather or hemp rope wrap? I think it would be cool if it didn't have any synthetic materials.

Just my two cents.

Dang! If anyone survives breaking into your place, they will definately need serious psycological help.:D:p

Seriously, that is a scary lookin

Thanks guys!

LA, Would love to put some leather but I love the strength of the synthetic stuff.

Erik, I am leaning to the red too.

Edro, hehehehe thanks :D It is a bit intimidating, it's sort of no nonsense kill thing, not really an all around tool like a knife, I don't much care for things like that but I was watching Anthony Bourdain today and he went to a bull fight, saw the "swords" the bull fighters stick into the bull and I thought I wanted to try something along those lines. I would NOT want someone to use this thing on me! Going to make a nice handy belt sheath for it.

Rondele dagger actually refers to the disc shaped gaurd and pommel

What you have made is a pretty kickin' stiletto

yep it does. i have been doing a lot of research on them as its a current project that has me all flustered. but I'm trying to wait till its done to post pictures. we will se how that goes. Sam that's a good looking spike, I think you could get through chain mail easily with that

Thanks Page! Nice links, I am very poor at historical accuracy hehe. Someone pointed out it looks like a jitte, I think that's more what it is than a stiletto.

Thanks JT!

That is really cool, Sam. I kinda like the hemp/sisal rope or leather/rawhide wrap idea though.

Thanks guys!

Went with the camo, same as that 1095 chopper I made awhile ago, looks good. REALLY looks like a jitte with the wrap now.

Karl, it is NEAT, scary as heck too!

Thanks Dan!

Thanks triton, yeah sort of an afterthought..... hehe

Jason, yeah it does, but hey, the japanese get away with it all the time :D
