my tastes have changed

How many cars are made completely in the U.S. anymore? None, I believe. How many TV's? None. iPhones? iPads? There is some good stuff made elsewhere. Spyderco makes great knives; centered in Colorado, but they also have plants in Japan and Taiwan that have wonderful production quality.
No flames, sir.

im sure they do make good stuff but for me personally if the knife is not made in the US, i won't buy it. there are very few things these days that are made in the US, and to have the opportunity to buy something here without gong bankrupt i will choose US made.

I'm always going over my collection and adding/removing things. Tastes change all the time. I used to love tactical knives when I was younger. Then got into lighter weight knives, then into higher end knives, then into fixed blades, now I'm digging more traditional knives.

I'm trying to get a knife of every style and steel to see what suits me best. What i mostly have is tactical folders and a couple fixed tactical/survivor and skinners. I've bought some cheap $5 tacticals from china that have worked fine but are nothing like high quality name brand blades.I'll never buy a no name brand knife in my life again (and would not recommend buying a no name knife cause for a little bit more money could get something better don't understand why someone would want to have 10 junk knives when they could have 1 really nice one)cause I have to many nice ones now but if that's all you can get theres alot of great knives under $20 that will serve any purpose just gotta spend more time resharpening and they won't last as long or be as effect as higher quaility steels. It all depends on what your using them for also.

Good for you. It is all personal opinion but a warning here: each step up on quality which usually results to higher cost it makes it hard to go back when you experience a certain quality. Once you reach a certain level it is hard to go back and you only want to go up in quality or get equal.

It happens to all of us. I have found that where I once disliked traditional folders and fixed blades, after a while I started collecting them. Sometimes we just need to give certain blade shapes and brands a chance. I've even bought cheaper knives and thrown them in the drawer soon after getting them only to find out later that I really liked them after digging them out and using them.
