My Temporary display/storage case , what's next?

So currently I am using a makeshift crappy case to accommodate my few knives. I don't have many knives, but my favorite ones are being kept in this. Also, I am buying more knives at least 1 per month. My other 10 or so cheaper knives are spread amongst my other possessions; car, backpacks, range bags etc

My question is what do you guys have to display/store your knives? I know some of you dudes have 100's of blades and a simple case wouldn't Be enough. But let's say your top 20, how do you display them or for anyone else how would you display them pßeew I'm looking for some type of case that has a window to see into and enough room so I can put in a piece of foam to cut out each shape for the knives to fit snug.

Right now I have this case bookmarked on amazon. It's big enough that it should be able to hold a good 15+ knives. It's got a window and I will put in case foam to make cutouts for each knife . I'd either lay it down on a dresser or table/desk. Possibly mount in wall even.

So what do you all have to show? Anything better to recommend? Are there knife specific cases out there? Any favorites among the forum? Thanks!

My wife got tired of my knives all over the top of my dresser so she got me this at a local flea market.

Probably not quite what you're looking for though.

Like Rev says, the large Spyderpac looks like just what you've described wanting. Another option would be a Kershaw or ZT knife bag. Kershawguy has them for sale. And he's a BF member/supporter.

I definitely like that spyderco pack. I think I may get that and also I'll give that glass top display box a chance as well since it's cheap and see what I can make with it.

I've always liked those wooden boxes, they look to be a bit on the elegant side.
The Kershaw/ZT knifebags are awesome. I have one, it seems to have disintegrated though, and it's never even left the house. I might have gotten a lemon, wonder if I can get it replaced. As for the Spyderco bags, they are nice because you can hang them and look at your stuff, I'll try and get a picture up.

Hey now, those shallots...... quit teasing me

I am a nut who seldom looks at his knives. I carry the same folder every day, and the others (all ANIB) seldom come out of their factory (generally Spyderco) boxes, except for pics or for inspection...when I'm planning to sell or trade. So I stack the individual boxes in a cardboard box and it resides in my safe. I don't feel that it has to make sense. I am in awe of these magnificent folders...like Gayle Bradley, PM2, Millie, Techno, TUFF, Caly and Sage and go through a lot of them on the Exchange...without ever carrying one. Somehow, there must be satisfaction in that, as it seems to continue unabated.

What is the knife just to the left of the Benchmade Grip?

I lived in an apartment complex years ago, and a neighbor of mine had his entire knife collection stolen because it was in a display case ready for the taking. So, once you have a collection worth stealing, you may want to consider something like this:

Btw, the BIG safe with the guns is upstairs - this one is just for knives!

I keep a portion of my knives in a 28 inch Stanley tool box locked up in my tool shed. The one I have is made in the USA, but I think some of the newer ones they sell at Homo Depot are made in China. but it's definitely one of the best and sturdiest portable tool boxes.

I have my EDC rotation in this Plano tackle box. I divided it into 8 compartments in order to carry 16 of my large size folders. If a person had shorter knives it could be divided to easily hold 24 knives, even up to 36 if they were relatively thin. Plano even sells a case that carries 4 of these thin boxes, so you could easily carry 144 of your favorite folders with you.

Plano cases are great. I use a 20 slot version for sharpening stones and strops. They have so many versions that would work for just about any type of knife.
