Hey guys,

I thought I would show this off here...

I decided to finish up this knife, and since I have posted my other two knives here...

Actually, kinda similar to one I built, you just need a notch at the end for pulling/scraping. The notch is probably the most used part of mine. Plus, I think it adds to the design aesthetically. I use the flat edge to pry open plastic laptop cases. I didn't actually mean to have you build me one, just that I like it well enough to consider buying it. Most knifes are too fancy(no offense anyone) for me to consider buying. Yours seems very practical as a both a box opener, case cracker, overall usable tool.

That seems like a very useful little knife. one for everyday use. I like it. Thanks for sharing it with us. John

Where exactly is your notch? Thank you for your kind words, I was trying to build a tool, as you say...

Thank you!

That's cool. What type of patina/finish is that?

Well, there are a couple different things going on... You have mill finish on the flats. Case hardening on the bevels. Then I put a sloppy cold bluing on it, which makes it easy to use, since you are not too hurt when you scratch it up, since you can burnish with steel wool and apply some more bluing.

Way cool! If that's as sharp as it looks, I can see tons of uses. Thanks for posting!

It is. Thank you!

+1 I also want to know the finish and process if you can detail. thanks- Loosey

See above.

Marion, If you don't mind sharing, how did you case harden without messing with the HT?

Wow, I really like it.
Looks like it would penetrate right up to the last strand of paracord if you had to heel hand it in SD mode. Great last ditch effort necker.
I know I go against the grain, but I was hoping it was chisel ground just to enhance the tanto.
Whatever, kudos for a job well done. And if you consider selling some w/sheath let us know. I'd switch off with my La Griffe for one of those!

Thank you. I had not designed with that in mind, I was more just trying to blend the Japanese Pattern with American handle notions, with some jimping for fun, but I see now that you could use it exactly as you have mentioned.

I have some sort of flu, which has precluded me from making anything in the way of a sheath, as I don't trust myself around any power equipment. But as soon as I don't feel like falling over, I will make a sheath for it, and it will be available.

Tell me, what sort of sheath would you envision for this knife?
