My "trio+1" for this summer. I'm so excited!

Is that the nessmuk double bit that was on the exchange the other day? I really would love one of those to add to the kit. I really need a full sized chopping axe, splitting axe etc for the garage too.

Nope, I waited my 14 months for this baby.

Very nice setup, who made the piggyback sheath setup for your fixed blades?

JRE. They did an awesome job on it.

Here's a closeup:

That JRE piggyback is very nice indeed. I used to be an all kydex kinda guy, but the classy leather sheaths are winning me over.... :)

Very nice !
Not to be a killjoy, but does the small fixed and the slipjoint not fulfill the same task ?

To a point, but I tend to like to keep different knives for different purposes. Kinda like why folks carry a Congress with 4 blades, all pretty much the same length. In my world, the pocket kep is for small woods type cutting. The Tidioute is mainly for food prep, or misc cutting if I don't have my fixed blades on me.

Did you need to send them the knives to be fitted, or can you send basic dimensions? If you dont mind me asking, what was the cost of the sheaths alone? Thanks bro

I have a MPX and PSK being built by Landi and want a piggyback setup like that for those knives.

That's a hell of a trio! They are definitely excellent lookers, and no doubt excellent workers as well. I'm all kinds of jealous. If I had a trio (+1) like that, I would take them for long walks on the beach :D .

All the best,

- Mike

If I took those for a long walk on the beach, they would be chick magnets and I cant afford the trouble. Always wanted one of those hatchets. My Marbles pales in function and form. Congrats.

those are some beaut's hope you ggive them a good workout this summer they should sever you well.
WE will needs lots of pics of the breaking in process:D

Love the axe! I never have warmed to the Kephart design knife, I prefer a straighter spine with a more acute point.

Thinkin bout getting one of those GEC's.

Thanks all!

As to the JRE sheath, yes you would need to send your knives to them so they can ensure a truly custom fit. These guys are top notch though. Here's another one they did for me for my Chopweiler and Swampwarden:

As to the price of the sheath, and the kit as a whole, I prefer to keep this to myself. I can say that each piece was WELL worth the price. You can contact each maker about their prices, and I'm sure you'll find them VERY reasonable.
