My trip to Mansfield Reformatory!!!

Very cool trip Pokey. I would love to be there in the dark searching for the knives Garth leaves around. Kinda like a egg hunt except knives :D. Knife hunt! That's my every day :). Thanks for the post.

Very well-written and informative review Pokey...I too find old buildings and whatnot interesting from many different perspectives. There's ALOT of history in those places...

BOSS

I LOVE old buildings - the more run down, the better. There's a place near where I grew up that was "the old meat packing plant" and it was the place to sneak to as a teen. I have pics from an overnight with a group of us, but they're old print pics in a box somewhere - however - if you watch Revolution, the episode from Monday was partly filmed there. The old building where the kids were hiding is it.

There's also that old asylum (the name escapes me) that's just outside of Ft Knox, KY. Maybe that could be where the next Busse Knob Creek party should be.

Cool pictures, btw!

The old Gebhart Brewery in Morris Illinois has been abandoned since the 1930`s, and is a neat place to see.

Awesome shots Pokleberry! That film is one of my faves too! How cool!!! I had no idea it was in Ohio. A must visit place when we come visit you guys!!!

Great pics and write up Pokey  Did you bring the Nuclear Seahorse with you for protection ? :D

............................................
HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

we like to drive around looking for them :) i guess Danvers mental institution, used for the film session 9, is the most famous we've been to - they've turned it into apartments now  - but my wife was there before that and has some great pictures

thanks for your pictures and story

Pokey,
I would love to tour that place. If you ever decide to do it again, let me know, I'll make an extended weekend trip out there. You captured so many orbs.....for sure haunted. It also helps that I LOVED that movie.

The exterior of that building is absolutely magnificent looking. I'm in PA. not too very far from there. I would love to go and visit that.
So....now that we have previewed Jerry's new oak Instantaneously Shocked Sober office chair....is there a BUSSE INFI Prison Shank Knife in our possible future?

So Cool. I was actually there over night Saturday Nov 17th to Sunday. Was really cool seeing all of the Shawshank and Air Force One Stuff as well as doing the ghost hunt. Would love to go back again. Really loved the history.

Was there a few years ago for a Volkswagen/Porsche car show. Was really cool touring the place. I couldn't believe the showers. Has to be about 50 yards long had water coming out on two sides - and gun placements every 10 feet for the guards. Go on online and read stories from former prisoners.

Thank you for the pictures! I am definitely going to try and go to these places more often. I think I am going to West Virginia Penitentiary next. Has anyone heard of that place? Mike, the Seahorse is a perfect knife for protection. If I whip that bad boy out when someone threatens me, they would be so confused they'd run away! ;)

Perfect strategy

So many orbs you got there, Pokey.
Do you usually get these orbs when you take pictures using flash with this same camera elsewhere!

I know! I didn't realize there were so many until I actually saw the pictures on the computer. Everytime we used the camera before, it never showed orbs.

These pictures are awesome Pokey  I love ghosts and haunted places! I have not seen the movie but I think it is about time to borrow it from my mom! Did you experience any paranormal activity or was it pretty much just creepy???

Old gaols and psych hospitals are good for getting the hair standing up on the back of your neck in the middle of the night !!! I could tell a hundred stories but some give me the eeeeby jeeeebies even in daylight !!

There used to be an old abandoned psych hospital an hour or so from where I live. They decided to tear it down :grumpy: I did get a chance to go inside a couple of times and there was a bunch of buildings, at least 12. Every building was connected by an undergroud tunnel. I didn't go in the tunnel though. . . .way too dark for me ;)
