Hi guys, I've been pursuing knife making for about 6 months now. I've done a lot of lurking and hopefully a little learning on this forum. There's an impressive wealth of information and experience here and I'm glad I stumbled upon this forum!
I'm always amazed by the first knives that a lot of guys make. My first one looks like I made it with my eyes closed. I'll post a picture of it for fun. I'm on my twelfth knife and I'm finally getting around to posting some pics to get some feedback. I'm fully hooked on the whole knife making thing and look forward to learning more from you all.
My first: 1/8" O-1 tool steel with Black Mesquite scales

The latest: 3/16" O-1 tool steel with African Blackwood scales

Thanks!

You've come a long way! Your first was very nice but needed more attention to the final details. You have that all worked out and your latest looks very slick and professional. Great job.

Very nice. That mesquite is nice and dark. Is all mesquite like this? Thanks

Thank you! That is black mesquite. I bought it from Jantz for around $10. There are other varieties of mesquite that are lighter...Honey mesquite I think.
