My two new rifles!

Those are both rifles to be very proud of..
I looked at a few of the Sako 22's a while back, very sweet..

I like the thinking that being noisy is inconsiderate. People that shoot at public ranges with muzzle breaks should have them wrapped around their head. :D
Last time I shot at a public range, the yahoo next to me torched off a 460 Weatherby with a break.. The muzzle blast and noise was incredible.. Needless to say, I was unhappy as was everyone else on the line. So I told him if he couldn't handle it, he should get a smaller rifle...
Funny thing was, he completely missed the target. 3 TIMES....

Here's a video clip of a friend of mine in PA,these guys build a lot of customs off of that 700 Remington.

Additionally, silencers don't make guns hollywood silent (though a .22LR rifle outddors, with a can, is almost there).

I don't know about that but was at a range where a demo was done with a .WW2 grease gun with a suppressor...The mechanism and watermelons made more noise than the silencer made.

I didn't see the other shooter in the pics. As for the muzzle break I feel your pain. I had a 12gauge with a jet away muzzle break/choke that made evryone wince.

If you look at the picture of the Remington 700, you'll notice that there is a p-14 (or less likely US M1917) Enfield in the background- so another shooter was present.

Subsonic pistol cartridges do supress a lot better than centerfire rifle cartridges. A suppressed .223 will still be over 120 decibels, for example. A .308 would be (give or take) around 148.
Here is a neat chart on the db levels of some common sounds (for comparrison):
