We were slow at work today and I'd been wanting to make an RC-6/Izula combo rig so.., this is what I came up with. I only had materials we had laying around the shop so it's by no means a work of art but it's pretty functional and it'll prove to be pretty stout I think.

it seems to carry pretty well although I didn't do much with it except walk around the shop

Now for the materials.., don't laugh to hard!! lol :D

1x dump truck mud flap
scrap pieces from a dump truck bed liner
misc. nuts and bolts

haha! yup thats it! The mud flaps are pretty dang tough., they're actually like a layering of rubber and cloth, it actually takes about 5 or 6 passes with a razor knife to cut all they way through them even though they're only 1/4" thick. The bed liner is some kind of super tough plastic that you can use to line the inside of dump truck beds to keep them from getting dented up., if it can handle that(which it does well) I think I'll have a hard time breaking it.

Here's a few more pics from different angles....

I've got a SAK/Firesteel kydex setup coming this week which will attach to the RC-6 sheath also., looking forward to seeing it all together!

Like I said, it's not pretty but until I can come up with a better idea(or better materials :D) I think this'll do just fine for now!!

Let me know what ya'll think!

Looks good from here! I like you how managed to keep it all pretty low profile. Will the Izula sheath pivot back and forth across the face of the RC-6 sheath? That would be a cool feature to keep it out of the way when not being drawn or re sheathed. Be sure to post some pics of the whole shebang when you get you SAK/Firesteel rig all set up.

No., the Izula doesn't pivot.., it could be made to do so with a little modification but it's more than I feel like doing ATM

It looks realy good. I like how you have it all set up dose the Izula ever get cought on any thing?

who cares how it looks, so long it does what its supposed to and it looks to be doing that just fine! nice job

Nothing wrong with that rig Bro. Looks like it does the job and it's made of heavy duty materials, what more could you ask for.

so far it hasn't but I haven't taken it in the woods yet, just wore it around the shop and around the house a little.., might go mess around a bit tomorrow and see how it does depending on the weather. I think it'll do pretty well though.., the Izula doesn't stick out much and the whole setup actually sits pretty flat against my leg so I don't see it being much of a snag point.

Looks good to me, but for me it's like this... If it's functional, it looks good!
That rig looks functional and slick as hell.
Maybe add a leg strap so you can pull out the ant without moving the RC-6 sheath. Just a thought...

Good work! Ive used mud flaps and conveyor belting as moccassin soles before. That stuff is really tough and lasts well.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! Let me know if theres anything ya'll would do differently or think might work better setup a different way as I kind of enjoyed doing this but now that it's done I'm kind of bored! haha

That SAK/FS kydex from Mike Billman should be in late this week or early next week and then I'll snap a few photos of it with the kydex on there. It'll hold an ALOX Farmer and an Army model FS, can't wait!

Oh yeah., and if any of ya'll would like a hunk of this plastic stuff(similar to this) just let me know. If you toss me a couple bucks for shipping I'd be more than happy to mail ya some. We've got a ton of it left over that we don't need. I've been using it here and there for various things, but theres more than I could ever use up. Probably alot of things you could do with it., if you're interested just shoot me a PM or email.

You did a great job. From the photos it looks very functional (and easy to modify, if you find something you didn't like or thought up an improvement). Plus, you have satisfaction of it having been made by your own hands. That's my kind of project.

Nope I think it looks good and also will serve its intended function, any ideas on how you could maybe attach a DMT 2 sided diamond sharpener, then you have everything you need in one compact package.
