Ok, I got rid of the paracord and replaced it with some braided leather thongs, not sure whether the purists here would approve but I thought it was a better fit:

Robertesq1: It is a treat to see folks who actually use their Randalls.Great picture. I confess that I have an extensive collection for 'looking, ahhing, and holding' [grin], but I, like you, actually did use one in particular a long time ago and now carry the tri-athelete, since the #2 boot knife is no longer considered 'acceptable'. As I told one afficienado "it is just a knife, superb, yes, but it is meant to be used, not saved for some future collector to buy & trade". O.K., my others are for drooling over [grin+++++] Best day to all.
