This was my wekend project, I have been wanting to work with some damascus for a while now, and I finally got the chance! This is some Alabama damascus I picked up a while back.
overall length: 8 1/2"
blade length: 4"
handle is stabilized red wood burl by WSSI that our good friend Larry Shagnessy was kind enough to hook me up with! Stainless pins and stainless lanyard tube.
Now I tried something a bit diffrent on this piece, I am not a big fan of how a damascus blade kind of blends the ricaso area to the blade area, SO I did a two tone etch on this piece. What I did is etch the whole knife for a while then whent back and ground the flats again, after I etched again but buffed all of the blach from the ricaso area to leave it as a kind of ghost etch. So now the blade and clip are a nice deep etch and the flats are the ghost etch!
Any of your comments are welcome and any imput would be greatful!!
Thanks Jason
