Hello All, five or six years ago I bought a Coticule and a long with it a Slurry Stone, actually it is just a smaller Coticule. I was into Straight Razor Shaving but got tired of losing a lot of blood (short lived hobby) so I no longer use the Straight Razors. My question is this, does the Coticule sharpen at all or is it used just for honing, thanks. It seems like I was able to put an edge on my Case Folding Pocket Knife so I guess it does sharpen to a degree though there are probably better methods for cutlery than the Coticule?

Coticules are finishing stones for the most part.
As long as your Case knife isn't very dull a coticule is fine for getting back to razor sharp.
I'll often use my coti on my SAK's or GEC knives but with some newer steels or ones with a high Rockwell hardness it would be rough going with a coticule.
