My visit of "old Solingen" and the "Deutsches Klingenmuseum" (German Blademuseum)

Wow....Old Boy thank you...what do I think....man - I think those older knives are just stunning, the intricacies in the detail of some of those knives is just beautiful.
German knives, and Weaponry have always been beautiful works of art.

Nice pictures, thanks for posting. To anyone wanting to go to Solingen, save up some money for the HARIBO outlet, its in Gräfrath, too :D yummy

Oldboy, now I'm interested, where are you from ? Maybe you're sitting right next to me ? Ich bin unterm BAYER-Kreuz ;)

Thanks for all your kind words, friends, glad you like my photos :)

I'm not far away from the "BAYER-Kreuz" ... i'm from MH-Ruhr, and my nickname here, is the same, as in an other (german) BladeCommunity :)

Thanks for taking time to post of your visit here.

A real treat thats for sure....and such a picturesque looking town.

Too much! Too much! My head is spinning.

I feel like I just took a 30-second tour through the Louvre. You know that feeling, like there's just too much to absorb in one day? I need to rest my eyes and come back.

Your photos are fantastic. Thanks for posting

Some of those old knives are advanced designs! I am especially intrigued by the one where the blades fold into the handle all the way round the knife.

Sure are, while others reach back to when Frank was a boy:

-- Thanks for the virtual tour, Old Boy; your pictures of these museum displays turned out exceptionally well, and I appreciate your taking the time to take the photographs and display them for us here.

A visual feast, indeed!

Wonderful, OB!
Thank you for the great quality photographs!
I am stunned and amazed!

Thank you Old Boy.

Your presentation and photos are quite wonderful.

I think that Genovich's comment below sums up the appreciation many of us feel:

"What an inspiring collection of cutlery!! It so hard even to pick a favorite!! I want to walk the streets of Solingen and haunt the museum for days. This is the kind of thread I will come back to often, to take in all the nuances of each knife, I may have missed the first time."

Thank you,

Mike H. "The Stainless Cat" is great!

Wow...

I've been intrigued by straight razors, and the art of using and maintaining them for some time now, although I haven't had the chance to try one. Boker is the maker that interests me most, so thank you for posting those!

Every picture you posted tells far far more than 1000 words. I just wish those knives could speak. :)

Simply amazing, thanks so much for your time and effort in bringing this to us !!
