My Visit to Benchmade

. . . Roadtrip!

Maybe I missed them, but I didn't see any Skirmishes. Did you?

In any case, thanks for sharing!

Hi TheBleedingEdge -

Cool - thanks for the pictures and story.

I will make it a point to travel out to that edge of the continent again and make my way around a couple of the knife manufacturers that are out that way.

best regards -

Originally, we were also going to stop by Gerber, Leatherman, and Kershaw, but we had to cut them out of the plan in order to stay on schedule. The people at Benchmade were great though - and it was really awesome seeing the Gold class knife makers in person and talking shop with them.

Another "thanks for posting this" from me. That must have been so cool to do. Tell me, didja buy anything? Besides knives, I would at least have gotten a t-shirt. Or six.

Glad you had fun. 'Tis one of the Holy sites!

Actually, I was thinking about buying a Benchmade polo shirt when they invited us in for the tour. When the tour was done, I completely forgot to go back to the store and pick one up (we hadn't eaten for awhile so hunger hastened our departure). But I know ShankMaster picked up a small pocket knife. I don't remember what it was, but it had a sort of "half-axis lock" on it. It was pretty cheap, and thinking back I should have bought a couple.

That's what I want to know. Just how special are you? And please don't say you didn't need to use it after seeing all of that. Congrats bud!

I'll tell you, I was really surprised when I saw the case full of discontinued knives for sale. I tried to get a few extra photos of it so you guys could see just what a treasure trove they had there. Seriously, go back to my initial post and look at some of them. They're niiiiiiiice.

One other knife I remember seeing there was a BM 42 with a Kris-style blade. They had it in the Gold Class collection back on the factory floor -and not for sale. :grumpy:

Nice pictures! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I'm so jealous you got a tour of the production areas.

I'm surprised ShankMasterFlex even laid a foot into Benchmade's headquarters hahaha :)

haha..i hear ya. I had to have a little talk to him about that. :)

Thank you for sharing.
It is always fun to see in to the business a bit.

I wonder if someone could tell me what model this is?
It looks like a 805 TSEK but the blade is a little to wide at the base.

And the knives under the one you circled look like the Phil colaboration spikes! I had one of those 13 years ago!
