Ok, thanks. I didn't know and only had an old recollection from earlier posts of beard and wondered if that's what it was. We don't have that near me. Are there any uses of Common Witch's Hair that we should know about?
 
Old mans beard is typically found in old growth forests and not on second growth as your photo depicted. Also old man beard is very distinct in appearance and has a central cord. Witches hair is very common here and lacks a central core like old mans beard. Witches hair was used as a very inferior material for weaving into garments when hides were sparse.

Chechako's try to use it for tinder and it isn't a good decision. It can be used but one needs to learn from someone who understands how to use it.

Cool, thanks for the info Quirt. The greenery part of this is outside my knowledge currently. I'd love to learn much more, hopefully soon, as soon as things settle a bt more at work.

Great pics. I am going to be going to Mt saint Helens in a few weeks so I really enjoyed. Looks like I will have to do the Ape Caves.
