My warning for deal spotting ?????

eh, it's a warning so as far as I'm concerned, it's not that big of a deal.

It's the meaning and principle of the entire issue. This is a forum and the weight of the world doesn't hang in the balance here. There are enough issues that we all face in today's economy and we look for a place to come and "get away" from the insanity. For many it's the forums.

But.....when we are constantly being chastised in public like children over things that are not even issues it becomes somewhat discouraging. I'm not the only one that feels that way.

I'm a paying member. I have purchased from 1SKS, New Graham, and Knifecenter over the past year. I spend money with the retailers that support this forum.

It just seems like sometimes the mods just look for something to give members grief about. This is my first chastisement but as I browse the forum I see it often and I have received private messages and emails from several members concerning this issue.

Come on guys........we need to lighten up the forum experience just a little here. We have rules and they should be followed but some of the things we get in trouble for is very subjective and if you go by the strict definition and look at the purpose of many of the rules we are being called out for doing things that don't really even apply to the given rule or it's examples.

I would think that in order for this to survive you would want to keep your paying members here. That doesn't mean we have freedom to run the show as we please but things could be handled a little different in many cases.:)

I wouldn't go that far. It was a warning, not an actual infraction. That said, lightening up is always a good idea.

Bimmer, I hope you don't think I implied that you were/are an idiot, that's absolutely not the case.
I agree with you in this matter but of course that means zippo. My point was that some things get reported, some don't and some things are fine with one Mod while another Mod says different.
An example just recently happened in a GB&U thread. One Mod said it was a No No to post a PM while another Mod says the reciever of the PM can do whatever he wishes with the PM. A big deal, I don't think so but that stuff happens.

Happy Holidays, time for me to STFU...........................

No problem wolfmann601. I don't have any issues with you or any other person here. Mods do what they feel is proper for the forum. I sent the mod a PM then was told I could bring it here. I have done that.

Happy Holidays to you as well.
