That's where i carry my Izula. Perfect spot i think. What belt attachment did you use? Or is it para cord?

it's a guard's dagger mount; meant to keep it away from eyes when you're on guard duty and you have to be highly visible to people, especially sensitive royal eyes. but is right there for immediate deployment. that also means that you tend to stay put and keep your face towards people most of the time. guards are paid to look pretty 99% of the time.

Looks good! I like to carry knives there when hiking - my daypack rides just high enough that the pack and sheath just barely touch, and the city family out with their 5 y/o girl doesn't panic about my big knife :)

of course there's nothing wrong with that... if you like it, and it works for you it's good.

p.s. it's not "your" way... people have been wearing knives like this for centuries.

scout style is my standard for fixed blades these days. though albeit with a smaller knife.

I like it - saves belt space in the front. However it is counter-intuitive from a defensive standpoint. Your taking a hand out of the fight while exposing vital organs to an aggressive attack. Of course i'm a bit jealous. With my butt, Id slice off half a cheek before completing the draw.

The only issue I see beyond legality is the injury you risk if you fall onto your back. You might consider Mike Sastre's Southern Comfort sheath instead. You'll be without the knife so he can properly fit it, but the knife will be better concealed and with far less risk of spinal injury than with your current system. I doubt it'll be any more legal in most areas, though.

I just have this problem with putting a sharp piece of steel along my spine...

But if it works for you, then it works. :D
