My website

I like it:thumbup: Nice, simple layout, good sharp pictures, all the basic info. The only thing I noticed that I'd change is that I would either increase the font one size or maybe go with a black font (and maybe increase that one size)-I think it would add a little variety to the page. As it is, the green background is just a little overwhelming (though I admittedly haven't had my coffee yet, so it may just be me:D). You could also break it up with just a couple of pictures (maybe a plant and a toucan) overlaid into the corners, almost see through but enough to hint at the colors.

Really though, it looks good as-is!

The simple layout is great. Too many websites are about flash and dash ignoring the fact that a lot of internet users are still bandwidth challenged, even here in the 21st century where we now all reluctantly find ourselves.

And yet you asked for "very, very critical" so here is the tough love. I had my wife look over your website. She does ours for the two companies we operate ( www.gmds.ca and www.whynachtsecurity.ca ) as well as my personal site ( www.randy.whynacht.ca ).

Her first reaction was, "First of all he's got to get rid of all that blue shit at the bottom because it looks like crap." It looks like the background of the template you're using is blue, therefore clashing with the green you chose in other areas. Changing the background to the same colour will blend everything seamlessly.

A black font would be great but only if you lighten the areas it's printed on. My own personal website is on the cusp of an update for that very reason - too little contrast so that now, in my old age, even I have trouble reading what I wrote, not that I care.

Anyway, you're on the right track.

It looks real good. I didn't search the whole site because I'm headed out the door.

On your front page here...

Flora and Fauna: Within the Arenal Conservation Area there are 4,283 species of flora and fauna. This means that 36% of the natural diversity of Costa Rica is found within an area that only represents 4% of the national territory.

I would ditch the title (bold underlined). You don't have other titles above the other paragraphs which makes this one unnecessary.

Seems like a really cool place to call home.

With the oncoming of HTML5 and highly adaptable web languages, I have to disagree with the 2 above posts. Sure I'll give you credit for having a website as this is the 21st century and there are sufficient inet tools to be productive that way. But don't be left behind with poorly designed websites and GUIs that will take you back to the 80s.

If coding pages from scratch isn't your thing, well theres a wide variedy of CMS available to be downloaded or hosted. Wordpress, Drupal, e107, php-nuke to name a few. and the list goes on.. These have themes that may or may not be edited to your liking. You may even recreate the entire /img to suit your design better.

But please... oooo please... don't waste inet bandwidth with passe date webdesign.. My eyes want to bleed.
