Well, here she is. The sharpest weding cake knife on the east coast :) The handle is actually the best one yet. It has the rounded areas just in the right spots.......Think I need to shape one of the handles on an earlier knife to resemble this one.

What do you think?

Niiice. I think that will be cutting more than cake by this fall. Looks like a nice pack knife.

Thats exactly what i thought. I almost trimmed the low hanging limbs on some trees we have in the front yesterday. The wife to be said.....AFTER THE WEDDING :grumpy: :D :D

7" blade ? type of steel ? does SHE approve ? give us the whole story and when it takes place how about a photo of you cutting the cake ? we want to know if it works !

The little lady said....."Very Nice" ;)

The overall is 11.25" and the cutting edge is 6".
Steel is 3/32" 0-1 and has a nice temper line. I O/A HTed the edge only, tempered to 375 degrees.

Handle is black / olive micarta and feels NICE.

Thats good Bill! I think I may need to dull this back down for the wedding activites :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

It may be too dangerous for some to have easy access to. I can just see a grandmother getting stiches!

Cutting the cake with a knife from your own hand has to make the cake taste sweeter....

Cool! Nice knife.....

very nice! Looks like agreat user too after the wedding is over. :D

Very nice knife, but you know, after the wedding, I think it will be hers and you'll only get to use it when it needs to be sharpened.
Congrats on both the wedding and the knife.
Regards,
Greg

bl,

You have come a very long way in a short time. The design is good. The grind is good and the handle is also very well done. You are working well with O1. You are now ready to proceed to other carbon steels that you can HT yourself.

Beautiful job! Wish I had thought of that for my wedding. I'm sure it will bring fond memories every time you use it. (That is if she lets you... :D )

It's a beauty, for sure! Your bride will really let you get your hands on it after the wedding cake cutting?

Great looking knife. even better that you get to use it for such a special occasion. but like some of the others i think after the wedding it may not be yours anymore :D

It would be better if it was a 'damascus' cake made with alternating thin layers of chocolate and vanilla.
