On Jan. 18th my wife had a hysterectomy due to pre-cancerous polyps in her uterus. Her Dr. didn't want to take any chances of those growing back and becoming cancerous, so out came her uterus and ovaries. She was at home and doing well in her recovery from that surgery...THEN, Friday she started having pains in her lower rt abdomen, along with a low-grade fever and nausia (lucky for my wife that I'm an EMT/Medic). I took her up to the ER to be checked-out yesterday morning, and yup, you guessed it...Her appendix went haywire. Last night she went into surgery AGAIN, and the Drs. removed her inflamed appendix. Aside from still being groggy, she seems to be doing ok...At-least for NOW...But I'm guessing that she'll be in the hospital a couple days, since they had to cut her open rather than the 3 small holes like with her other surgery.

Damn, what a rotten few days :(. Along with the post-op pain and discomfort, she's going to be off work for about 5 more weeks, so somehow we have to live off of my measly little paycheck.

The bright side in all this is that she has good medical insurance, so at-least we won't be faced with a 1/2 million dollar hospital/surgical bill...At-least not all of it.

Sorry guys, but I just had to "talk" with someone...I'm slightly frazzled.

Prayers sir, thoughts are with you!

Of course you're frazzled, Dann.

Anybody would be.

Smoke and prayers going up from Virginia for her safe recovery and return to her doting husband. :)

I'm guessing this is going to be an extra-special Valentine's Day. ;)

glad to hear she's going to be alright!:) appendixs are sure a pain for not doing anything useful. :D

It'll be rough for a little bit then things will be back to normal.

May she recover fast and strong ! :)

and may the Glockster keep his wits about him.

My prayers are with you.
Stay strong and take care of her. The rest will get worked out.

Sorry to hear that.

Thoughts and Prayers for you both.

I know you must be under a lot of stress, Try and stay strong for her sake.
And try to get some rest yourself.

Pretty much the same thing happend with my mum a few year back.
My thought are with you and your wife, I wish you all the best !

Best wishes for a complete recovery for you wife,---
and good thoughts for you both.

I'm sorry that this has happened to you and your family. It must be very difficult for both of you right now. My prayers are with you both Glockman. May she recovers quickly.

My prayer and best wishes to you and your wife. May God grant both of you a speedy recovery.

Hang in there Dan...Take good care of her and make sure she does not over do anything. Women have a tendancy to want to get up and start doing stuff before they are really ready..

hang in there bud...we got your six..

Yeah, that chain of events definitely sucks, but at least she seems to be on the mend now. Hang in there Dann. Prayers sent your way...
