On Jan. 18th my wife had a hysterectomy due to pre-cancerous polyps in her uterus. Her Dr. didn't want to take any chances of those growing back and becoming cancerous, so out came her uterus and ovaries. She was at home and doing well in her recovery from that surgery...THEN, Friday she started having pains in her lower rt abdomen, along with a low-grade fever and nausia (lucky for my wife that I'm an EMT/Medic). I took her up to the ER to be checked-out yesterday morning, and yup, you guessed it...Her appendix went haywire. Last night she went into surgery AGAIN, and the Drs. removed her inflamed appendix. Aside from still being groggy, she seems to be doing ok...At-least for NOW...But I'm guessing that she'll be in the hospital a couple days, since they had to cut her open rather than the 3 small holes like with her other surgery.
Damn, what a rotten few days
. Along with the post-op pain and discomfort, she's going to be off work for about 5 more weeks, so somehow we have to live off of my measly little paycheck.
The bright side in all this is that she has good medical insurance, so at-least we won't be faced with a 1/2 million dollar hospital/surgical bill...At-least not all of it.
Sorry guys, but I just had to "talk" with someone...I'm slightly frazzled.
