On 5-11-05 I came home from work to find my wife was sick with flu-like symptoms. She had a fever, was weak and pale. She didn't want to go to the Dr. thinking it was just a flu bug. Looked like the same thing to me so she decided to ride it out. Next day she was a little worse and I said we should go to the Dr. She didn't want to go. Friday I came home from work and she was running a 104.5 degree fever and was quite weak. I said enough, we're off to the ER.
After giving her symptoms to the triage nurse at the ER they immediately admitted her and found out she was extremely anemic with a blood level count of 6. Most all of us have a count of 15-16. They scheduled a bone marrow biopsy after giving her 2 pints of whole blood and starting her on IV antiobiotics.

Well, the result of the biopsy was a nightmare come to life.
She was diagnosed with AML, which is Acute Myoletic Leukemia. A highly aggressive and fast spreading form of Leukemia. We immediately got her started on chemo-therapy and repeated transfusions of blood platelets and whole blood.
This past Saturday she had a bad reaction to a transfusion and started a nearly uncontrollable bleeding into her lungs. Her blood Oxygen levels plummated to 53% (Yours and mine hover around 100%) and she began coughing up copius amounts of blood. They immediately called a "Code Blue" and brought her back from death's doorstep.

Currently she is in extremely critical condition in the ICU.
For the last four days the love of my life has been in a coma and I am in a living Hell.

I've been with her nearly 24/7 since we admitted her to the hospital, but I've come home to get online and ask for your prayers for my wife's healing.

We are deeply appreciative of any and all of your prayers for her healing.

GOD Bless you and yours!

I may not be able to respond for awhile as most all of my time is spent at the hospital. Thank you again.

all the prayers this old cowboy has coming your way and hers--hope she is better soon

My prayers are sent. I know that you are worried but don't forget that you need to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else. Keep your spirits up and remember that attitude is infectious.

Mike, Been there 8 years ago, she's still with us. I can only offer you the strength that the lord provides. She will need your smiling face to show her you believe she will recover from this and she will too. Our prayers are with you both...........

I wish you and her success in fighting this terrible illness, and a speedy recovery.

Best wishes,
Allen.

I'll keep your wife, you, and the medical staff in mind. Be strong, and have faith! As others have said before, the healing process of your wife depends also on your wellbeing.
Like we say in Dutch: Zolang er leven is, is er hoop! (I'll give a free translation: There is hope as long as there is life.)

You and she will be in my prayers. May God bless you and your family.
