My wife surprised me last night..

Ive been finishing my 1st knife.
Its a small wharnie in a simple flipper style.So im waxing the handle when my wife walks into the work room.
I hand it to her and show her how to flip it open.She flips it a few times an gets a HUGE smile:D on her face,well its about 20 minutes later when i finally get it back from her.All the while im hearing... clic clic clic clic... as she,s flippin it open an closed w/it.
So while im polishing it i,m telling her how i learned a lot making this one and how i,ll change the next one to make it better.Well about an hour later were in the car an she,s happily flipping it open and closed (agian) and gushing... look look i can flip it left handed too !when outta the blue she says...

When you finish the next one CAN I HAVE THIS ONE?
I WAS FLOORED :eek:( but ecstatic:D).

She,s never shown any interest in my knives or the making of this Knife. I find it cool that she now does.

Sorry for the long winded post but Dayum!!! Im stoked that she,s interested.

I,ll post some pics of the Knife as soon as i can borrow a camera.
Its nuttin special but its my 1st and i like it.(Im sure some of you can relate)
 
Tell her she can have it for .01c. Rule of thumb is that you can't just give someone a knife, because if you just give it to her it means you want to sever the relationship.
 
Never heard that one before Chuck! Wow! My family must be horrible then!! Atleast one person gets a knife every christmas...
 
if you give someone a knife that mean's you trust them not to stab you in the back : )
(I allways thought a knife was about the best present you could give or receive,)

Now that you have the misses hooked on your knives, it should be easier to talk her into letting you "Upgrade" your knife making shop!!!!
 
I too have heard of not just giving someone a knife but was told that the penny had copper. so me thing about trading copper for steel. supposed to be good luck for the knife.

If it's true what they say about it severing the relationship, I'll give her all my cheapos.

I told her about the paying for it suggestion..she says, but hun wouldnt you rather *trade* for it..an i said YUPPPPPPPPPPP:).

She asked me last night if i minded if she took it to work,, she wants to show off her flippin abilities she said.

YES she has become COOL
 
Whenever my wife wants something made for her or a family member, I usually suddenly need a new tool to complete the job.
