My wife thinks I have too many knives.

Tell your wife its a guy thing. Just like she gotta buy shoes and handbags and you gotta buy knives.

Besides, there are far unhealthier interests out there than amassing sharp objects. Hmmm... I can spot at least one Dozier among them.

I agree that the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy is the best way to deal with wives, in such matters as knives and guns.

Your wife is correct, You do have too many knives. Send me the ones in the red knife roll. That should get her off your back.

Don't worry, They will be safe with me. I don't have a wife to tell me I have too much of anything.

I have heard this all of my life " you have too many knives, or enough knives, or you dont need another knife  " from my grandmother, mother, sister, girlfriends, but no wife so far. At one point I started to believe them. After that, I bitchslapped myself, sobered up, and realized, YOU CAN'T HAVE TOO MANY KNIVES!!! :D :D :D

I ask my wife to never attempt to buy me anything. She recently bought me a picture frame which her friends told her "was perfect for me." I hate it. She asked and I told her so!

I buy my own toys: knives, smoking pipes, flashlights and guns and give them to her as holiday gifts for me. Each holiday she picks out one or two and gives them to me. It makes us both happy...

knife or wife....easy decision if you're a clever man...

BOTH !!

My wife thinks I have too many knives.

My wife made the same comment some years ago. Then her mother asked her if she would rather I had a few blonds, brunettes and red heads. The wife never raised the subject again. Everybody needs a hobby, and knife collecting is fairly benign.

My wife has given up and accepted the fact that I have a "sickness". She even got me a LW Loveless City Knife for our 18th anniversary (with a little help from me). :D

Besides, how many shoes, purses, ear rings, and necklaces does she REALLY need? I think she is the one with the "sickness". :p

Don't ask, don't tell works great for us too. I could care less about all the women stuff, as I'm sure she could care less about my knives and guns. I do make it a point to compliment her on a new outfit, shoes etc., but NEVER ask her what she payed for it.

It helps to have a nice safe to keep our goodies all locked up in too.

Tell her that you could be spending your time and money on some other hobby, like a mistress. :) Maybe that'll cool her jets.

Just an idea.

I've found a way to keep my wife happy about the toys. I give her 1/2 of all the training funds that come in, and make her car payments for her.

If she benefits from my activities and compulsions, she is very happy for me to buy/collect etc.

Wow. You have far more than I do, yet my wife thinks I have more than I need. Of course, the last two knives I got were 1) a gift from, and 2) she told me to buy it.

This begs the question: How do you decide what you will carry? Is that a major decision each morning? Do you ever think that some of your knives "feel" left out?

I have a small wicker basket on the night stand, in there are an assortment of large, medium, and small folders, along with some fixed blade SD knives.

These are my EDCs of the month than depending on the occasion I also keep some slipjoints in there for Sunday and going out, every once in a while I'll add some from the rolls.

Basically I just grab what feels right for the day.
