My woodsbum combos

What is the most effective combo for you Bro???

It really depends. If I have to do a lot of soft viney vegetation, then the Nepali combo. Other than that, it really depends on if I want to play indian or Viking that day. I was serious when I said that any of these combos will do, though. They each have all the tools that I need to do outdoors things or make other tools to do them. Only thing they don't do well is dig, but my e-tool covers that, and I only have one, so it goes with whatever combo I choose.

Nice! All of them are great combos man....You have alot of time in with the Nepali setup dont cha?

Love that Vec Hawk.....

Over 4 years with the CAK/R-10.
The Vec hawks can also get addictive. I've got another that's 28" painted in an Asian tiger stripe camo scheme. It hasn't grown on me like the black one, though, which I went so far as named.

How does the vec hawk compliment the BM? I am asking to be educated, because I would imagine the busse out chops the hawk. It seems like 2 choppers?

Well, first of all the BushWhacker Mistress is .187" thick, versus the .250 - .370" thick of the other Battle Mistresses. So it doesn't chop as well as even they do, and to be honest, I don't think any of them chop all that well, I can outchop them with either the hatchet, hawk or kukri. Now, I admit that I'm a hard sell on choppers because I grew up with hatchets, and have a lot of time on the kukri, and have yet to find a knife that can chop as well as they can. I've been PMed several times by people asking which I would take to the end of the world, or which is the better chopper, or what is it that I have that badly out chops a Battle Mistress? The answer to all of the above is that 20"CAK pictured, which is the first blade I named.

That being said, I can out chop the BWM by quite a margin with the Vec hawk. The hawk can be easily sunk in to the eye on even hard woods and does a fantastic job when done right.

The BWM, on the other hand, is one darn fine slicer. It also makes the best fuzz sticks of any knife I own, including the puukko and leuku. So it really is the slicer of the two and does some machete work as well. When paired for fighting, the hawk and long knife are hard to beat.

Love Nepali combo, but others are also cool!
Thanks!!

A trusty tool is like a good friend, it would be rude not to name it. So, what'd ya name it??

My kind of combo:thumbup::thumbup: That is true blue, red blooded American Martial Arts:cool:

Cool thread Cpl P, I like your taste.

the hawk will easily out chop the busse. the small bit generates lots of power on the long shaft. the busse can't compete with it but it is a good all around tool capable of doing many things

they are definitely a good complementary pair IMHO. - one takes off where the other one lags, and vice versa - i know who's kit i want to steal....

a hawk and a long knife or machete makes me very happy when i am in the field.

The hawk (which Vec called the Black Mamba) was Christened by me as The Morrigan.

The Morrigan was one of the greatest "negative" archetypal mother goddesses of the irish celtoi. She is a goddess of war, death, prophecy and passionate love. Together with Badb and Macha
she build a triad of three warlike goddesses.

The Morrigan is prophetess of all misfortune in battle and has knowledge of the fate of humanity. She is also the messenger of death as the dark lady/washer at the ford : Morrigan is seen washing bloody laundry prior to battle by those destined to die.

Signs and Symbols:
Raven and Crow
Ford of a river
The Colors red and black.
Weapons like spears,swords and shields.
Blood
Blackthorn

The Morrigan goes back to some very vivid dreams of her if y'all are interested in such things.

Really dig the Scandi combo, seems to cover pretty much everything, plus the more blades the better :D

Technically, on the Scandi combo, I could get away with just the axe and Leuku, but it just doesn't look right without the puukko next to it.

To duplicate the same, I could add an R-6 to the Nepali combo and a Busse BAD to the Vechawk combo.
