You're welcome! I'm so happy somebody noticed It! I don't have any knife pals around my home area, so I never got to show this to anyone who could appreciate it. I myself loved it at first sight! Thanks againWhatever else it is, it is a good looking piece of cutlery.
Thanks for posting it.

Hey, I feel better now! Sometimes, it's lonely being the only "knife guy" around. I feel like there are others like me at this forum, who appreciate the details and intrinsic value of various blades, like you! And I hope to be able to say hi to as many of them as I can. The brotherhood of steel! Most of us are in that position. That's why we hang out here.![]()
Hey there T Twindog , I do not know the full name of the maker, unfortunately. WORD is all that is on the blade, and also 063, no other markings that I can see. Thanks for asking!Do you know the full name of the maker? Googling "word" and "knife maker" or "knife" or "custom knife" doesn't do anything useful.
Wow, Twindog! Now I see. I didn't realize that filework could be so interesting and intricate! I learn something every time I come here, Thanks! As to the Word, I don't know which that would be considered.Looks like jimping, but longer than usual, and could be either. File work is decoration. Jimping is for grip.
Below is some file work.

Right onAhhh, somebody asked me earlier "What's the good word?"
I was unsure at the time, but now I'll just forward a link to this thread.
That's a nice piece, I'd say the spine was file-worked to break up the big slab of steel.
I'm not much for choils, especially when there's already a guard in place, but it probably aids in sharpening.
I really like the handle... the wood, the guard, the buttcap and pins all make for a very appealing look.
Thank you for the suggestionI wonder if Bernard Levine would have heard of your knife and know something about the maker.
Wouldn't hurt to ask.
Great knife, by the way.
Looks like a spine rasp to me.Looks like jimping, but longer than usual, and could be either. File work is decoration. Jimping is for grip.
