My worst knife and most hated knife, my EDC.

No really, I hate this knife. I would not recommend it to a friend. Take that amazon.com.

I had one of these awful things a few years ago. I sold it to a co-
worker for 20 bucks after telling him what a piece of crap it was.
He was still pissed at me despite the warnings. No more CRKT.
Not now, not ever.

Why are you so frustrated by an $18 knife that was designed specifically to be lost and damaged but not bother the owner^^^. Try the drifter, it might suit you better. Then again you might throw a fit, who knows. What kind of food do you cut with that small blade? Free parts, won't break, useful for food, cardboard, it works even after you fail the lock, and the coating is better than your Izula. And you don't think it was worth the $18 you paid for it. The lock is not hard to actuate at all. I'm not saying you have to like this knife, but all these are your own points. Why are you upset?

I EDC Millies and Enduras but this still has life in it after 4 years. Just for you.

onestly I hate this thing. I got it on sale on amazon for 18 bucks, and I still don't really think it was worth it.

They've gone up to $23 already so perhaps your knife is holding it's value on the secondary market? ;)

So, we have a knife that needs to die in some horrible, but inadvertent way...

Give it to a full time mechanic as a gasket scraper. I guarantee within a month (maybe a week) it will no longer resemble the tool you now have.

I bought mine from Walmart for $4. I kinda love/hate as well. It nearly refused to actuate when it was new but its fine now. Either that or my finger got stronger.

4 dollars? Thats a price I could live with.

FYI, the lock is absolutely hard to actuate, your knife is probably better than mine...thanks for bragging. =D

It's funny how the one you hate most gets used most.
The Drifter was a pleasant experience. You might like
that.

so, you hate the knife because you say it is "crappy" yet no matter what you have done it hasnt broken yet? just a little ironic ;) maybe you should baton it through some steel pipe to "test" its strength....... :D  ;)

That review was great, but i have to say "Pic's or it didn't happen!" Gimme some visuals, man!

by the way, look up "bad penny". This is a perfect example, like Uncle Buck in knife form.

I got my CRKT M16 EDc from WalMart also marked down to like $15 and was regular $20. While I concur with you opinion on the overall crapiness of the knife, it does fit the price-point as an 'average' (well, maybe below) knife. Now there are much better shining examples at that price-point like the CRKT Drifter and Buck Vantage Select, but the M16 really is par for the course.

I hate mine too but it is the first knife I try and look for when I wanna cut something that would otherwise mess up a decent knife. That's why I have kept it around. It does a lot of the "dirty work", I mean REALLY "dirty work".

Be careful with it? I'm not shanking a bear, or stabbing anything. I think I am going to try standing on it.

I had to saw through some aluminum sheeting with it yesterday. It hasn't been shaving sharp in awhile, but it still has a useable edge. I really wish it would just die.

To clarify, I didn't say be careful with "it", I specifically said to be careful about stabbing actions.

Heh I didnt mean to brag, shoulda been more clear.

I was taking a about 3 knives up to the stand as buying spree and when I got to the counter I see this black little Crkt M16. The thing had bout 6 tags on it going from $20 all the way to $9. I was amazed. The package was unopened so I scooped it up and asked what the hell was the actual price on the thing because it was littered with price taqs.

Me: *Confused* What...is the actual price on this thing?

Walmart Dude: *swipes* $4.

Me: Woah! What a steal! A good knife for so cheap! What luck! Jubilation! There is no possible way this could suck! etc. etc. *yoink*

So I get home and pretty much discover exactly what you did. It was a dud. It refused to open unless you had the fingers of Hercules. Dinking around with the tension screw only made it too loose. Only after hours of tinkering and finger pain did it finall start to reliably open.

I find it so strange that it does its job, but should by all points be a really crappy knife. Its in some sort of fugue state of Crap/Good. I dunno what to make of it.

Very entertaining review, crappy knife that won't die.

I have an M16-01Z that I like a lot. The liner lock does stick if you flick it open hard, and the thumb stud is rough, but otherwise it is pretty awesome.

Had one and sold it ASAP, and got my money back! I also had an M16-14LE or something with aluminum handles five or six years ago. It was actually a pretty decent knife and flipped open really smoothly too.
