My Yojimbo made an escape attempt

I was lowering a trash bag into our wheeled dumpster-thingy this morning and I just happened to notice what looked like something sticking out of the bag. For some reason I looked into the dumpster to see what it was. To my surprise it was my Yojimbo 2. When I was lifting the bag into the dumpster it grabbed the 'jimbo's clip and lifted straight out of my pocket. Never felt a thing.

Be careful out there folks!

My seatbelt likes to do that to Spyderco clips. I've occasionally gotten out of the car and been treated to the sight of my knife dangling from the belt.

I left a knife on a seatbelt on a forklift once. Retraced my steps and found it. I usually carry in my back pocket so I don't scratch cars and furniture with the clip and I find I am less apt to have my knife plucked from my pocket by things that way.

Seatbelt in my old jeep liked to grab my ATR every once in a while but the clip on that made it very noticeable of it being pulled out of a pocket.

Yep, I'm glad it caught your eye. I lost a pocket clipped knife while throwing a cast net. I felt it rip out of my pocket when I threw. I just hoped it would still be in the net when I pulled it up, but no such luck. I threw the net a few more times hoping I would snag it.

the first week I had my positron, it snagged my seat belt.. the groove for the wire clip is so close to the edge, it ripped the clip right through the carbon fiber!
now the clip doesn't want to stay on. :(

I had a bed so tall at one point I had to slide out on my belly to get out. I lost my knife for a year until I changed the sheets because the clip got caught on the bed skirt.

I'm kidding. It was 3 days. I'm not that gross.

Do you think they design the clips to catch things so we lose the knives and have to buy more? Conspiracy theory! Lol jp. I too have had my seat belt take my military out of my pocket.

That's one of the reasons I'm fond of the CRK Ti Lock/Hawk spring lever pocketclip. Takes a bit of usage to get used to the re-pocketing technique, but it will always remain put. (please forgive the non-spydie pic content)

my PM2 gets hung up sometimes on seat-belt!i'm trying to switch over to my left side carry pocket, ether that or hang the sucker around my neck!darn things ant cheap, that trash can thing is really a bummer, who would have thought!

Last week I bent the clip of my Native against a table in my office. Fortunately I could fix it with the Leatherman pliers I carry in my backpack... Be careful if you carry your knife clipped on the front pocket....

Back pocket carry is the way to go!!!

I just don't like the idea of someone being able to snag it out of my pocket with out me seeing. If by climbing out of your car and your seat belt hijacks your knife without you knowing, whats to say a friendly "bump" by a passerby while walking along doesn't wield the same results. Personal preference thing I suppose, I just prefer front carry. I did have to monkey climb over a pallet at work once, and the shrink wrap decided it wanted to be friends with my PM2. It took me an hour find where the damn thing was, hanging on to the side of the pallet like a cliff hanger.

This might sound like a dumb question but...isn't that weird? Do you sit on your knife all the time? I feel like I'd rather do knife in back pocket and wallet in front pocket but the concept seems weird to me.

The Hawk Grip Clip is fantastic. My favorite pocket clip hands down.

My Delica is a veritable bungee jumper!

Sucker is always trying to run off on seat belts, furniture, other people etc.

Sucker does not like to stay put.

We all live different lives. I do not wander around areas where that may happen too often. If I am downtown at a bar or something I usually move my knife to an IWB spot at about 3 o'clock. That is my normal sweatpants around the house carry so it is natural for me. I also jog a lot with one IWB there. I even EDC there if my pockets are all spoken for and as an EDC geek that happens. Your concern is valid but for me it is not an issue. I have been carrying in my back pocket for many years without an issue.

I carry my wallet and phone in my front pocket and my back pockets are empty except for a knife in each one. If you put them on the outside of each pocket you do not sit on them when sitting up straight. Even when I am lounging on the couch and stuff I never notice. I have a Cruwear Manix2 in my RRP and a Caly3 SB in my LRP today. ;) Try it. :)

I can't carry my lrg Insingo all winter because every jacket I own catches the clip and send it to all sorts of hiding places, almost lost it 5 times already. First day I got my new G10 Grip, same thing, (I let Benchmade know my issue and they sent me 3, yes 3 clips and hardware to choose from!). Never had a Spydie with the same issue, yet...
