Mystery Knife revealed

Having pondered it for the evening, I can't figure out how some BEB is dark and translucent but this one seems bright and "light" I've been playing with finishes here lately and it's been interesting to see the differences between Tung, Teak, Danish, Varnish, Shellac, Mineral Oil, Orange Oil, Bee's Wax, Carnauba Wax, Minwax, and on and on. It's a dark art.

I've got a plan in place for Bud and things are starting to get set in motion. We'll see how it pans out.

Anyone know when FBF switched from the brown micarta to the black epoxy in the signature bulls eye? I've noticed it here of late, but never really saw it as a switch until I did a little comparison today.

It depends on the liners and pins. If it's natural liners it gets a brown bullseye and if it's black liners It gets a black bullseye. Same with the pins too
Edit
The black is actually carbon fiber

Sweet knife. One of the best looking Recluses (and knives, period) I've seen!

That's just gorgeous! Congrats.

I noticed the inner stainless tube is slightly wider on the black bullseye by the way. The brown one is still (just) narrow enough to blow a fire back to life but the black one seems a bit to wide for that. It does look great though.

Nice, I did not know that.

Are the black pins and liner carbon fiber as well, or just the black filling of the bullseye thingie?
