The hook on the blade is not a bottle opener! It is a pin catch. To open the knife, hold the blade with the tip up and press the blade in to release the pin and open the blade. to close the blade, hold it with the tip down and press into the handle and the blade will lock closed.

The blade and handle sides are made out of 15n20/1095 mosaic damascus. Opened length is 5 1/4" and closed is 3". The screws are handmade and timed. Selling price is $600. Thanks for looking.

300lw, not familiar with the Portech Ciabatta. This pattern has been around for years. They were promotional knives in the 40's,50's and 60's. I had one when I was a kid. We all called them mystery knives. They were also known as black and whites. Tip one direction it would open, tip the other direction would close it.

Thanks for looking

Michael

The first knife I ever bought with my own money, the seed of my collection is an Imperial of this design. That was some 40 years ago and I still have it! I sooo wish I had the cash handy I want this one badly it is awesome!

I have an old Imperial like this knife. Of course, mine isn't quite as fine as Mike's. :D

Beautiful damascus!
