I don't know if it those pesky cats again or what but over the last few days some weird stuff has been going on in my back yard !!

I woke up on tuesday morning and went out into the back garden, under the gate was some garden wire flower bed arches (you know the type that make the edges of the beds looks quaint) It was about 10 meters away from where it should be and around a shed ??

Came home fromk work on wednesday and the garden gate was open with 2 of these little wires things laying flat instead of being in the soil.

Thursday it rained so I left a mop bucket out to collect some rain water for my Venus Fly Trap. When I came home, the bucket was tipped over and lying in the middle of the garden, the garden gate was open again and the wires goodies were out. Pushed them in real tight and when I woke up this morning one is out and I can't find it now but there are some scratchings around where its base goes.

I thought it cant be a cat cos it would n't be able to open the gate, pull the wires things out or knock the bucket across the lawn - so I thought it might be a dog which would explain things. I have also put a 2x4 on top of the fence in the theory that if a cat were to jump onto it the 2x4 would fall down with the cat.

I am confounded - there's no damage so nothing to worry about but it's freaking me out !!

Where are our detectives ??

Have you been sleepwalking again, Two Dogs? ;)

Then again maybe it's Coyote. :D :D :p

Dust the ground near the "scene of the crime" with some kind of powder - flour or whatever that will show the prints of man or creature that creep, slither or walk on the path.

Or, tie a trip-wire linked to a small bell near your bed. When it rings, take out your binoculars and see who is the culprit.! :D

Hi Brendan,
Reminds me of when a badger used to come into our garden & knock the bird bath over when getting a drink ! Also little clawed patches from getting grubs/worms etc. out of the lawn, only found out what was doing it when neighber had left barbacue remains in thier garden and in the morning we found a 15 inch diameter hole under the fence! It only seemed to happen in the winter & peak drought summer, so I guess they hunt further afield for food & water then.
Carried on for 3 years untill they built a lot more houses round here.
Best thing though it scared the neighbours cats away!
Just an idea could be possible though.
regards,
Spiral

Thansk Chaps !!

Rust I may have been sleepwalkin' but that hasn't happened for awhile !!

I was chatting to my neighbour and he said where we live used to be an airfield and our area was basically the crash site for alot planes arriving back from war missions !! He got me kinda spooked cos he said he keeps finding his gate open in the morning and said before he bought the house across from us he lived in the converted flats next door to us and he came home one day to find no sign of entry into his pad, no alarm disturbance and the lamp in the lounge was moved away from the corner of the romm to directly in front of the fire place !!

I is freaked !!

...hmmmmmmmmmmmm ?

Raccoon is big enough and handy enough to do these things. Smart little guys, too. I like the tripwire idea. Course it could be an old airman's ghost, but why would he be hanging out in your garden?

Maybe a "trip" camera might solve the mystery. They sell them at Cabellas and I think at the larger Walmarts. It sure would be neat to have a pic of a ghost vandalizing your backyard.:D

I think you've been living in Nevada too long Uncle Bill. My vote goes to the undead. If there have been plane crashes in the area it might be zombies. BTW, did I mention I'm looking for work? :D

What are you growing in your garden? That may help solve the mystery! I'll go with wolvesclaw on this one with a raccoon, especially if you've got corn growing in the garden. If you have tomatoes, stringbeans, & peppers coming up, watch to see if the neighbors are feasting! Now, if you're growing 'pot' - blame the neighborhood kids!:D

It's the restless spirit of that pretty kitty you are standing on nekkid.

warned ya.

did you listen?

nope.

Do you have a video camera with IR or a low Lux rating and a window facing the garden?
If you got both, you could make a mint with a video of alien, undead racoons.
