Mystery object

I talked to the Horse and found out they were meant as tube poppers. They actually sold poorly - (I think because they are shorter than the better steel poppers) - so GEC has been giving them out for free. I don't know how well they would work - or last - as knife picks, which are usually made of steel softer than blade steel, but give 'em a try!!
(From the Horse's mouth!!)
Ahhhh, ok . Now I know what it is :) 🙏

Even if I don't use this sort of tools because I.. use the GEC knife side to open the tubes I appreciate very much the gift 🥳

It's obviously a punched out blade blank ,but looks like thin brass.
My guess is they ran a bunch of brass liner stock through spear point blade stamping dies then gave them a tang stamp.
No clue why they would do this.
Were these given away with some of the knives like the pins I see a lot of the GEC enthusiasts here with ?

😉😁

I think most of this has been said and Charlie has spoken to the horse, but yes I believe they’re just little mementos - they were also given out at the rendezvous with the pin.

My thoughts were: Too thin for a tube popper as it bends too much and it’s also too short. The actual tube popper is thicker, made of steel, and is longer for better leverage. One end is for the ”tube popping”, the other end is a Knife pick, and of course because you have to have one, there’s a bottle opener. It’s actually a handy little tool/mini prybar.
