Mystery wood

Bubinga will be very dense / heavy. Not so if mahogany.

Is it heavier or lighter than a peice of say oak or maple?
 
It seems pretty heavy, I think heavier than maple. I have been having a hard time getting a hold of my uncle during the holiday. I may try the national forest service thing
