Hi there folks! I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but does anyone know any bladesmiths in N. California or S. Oregon? I have read many times on this forum that the best way to learn is to find someone to teach you, so here I am, looking for someone to watch!
oh, the closest "city" to me is Klamath Falls OR.
Thanks!

Gene Martin lives in southern Oregon, lots of people up there. I believe Gene even teaches some classes from time to time.

Peter Pruyn lives by Gene, Mike Turner is down the road. Michael Bell is down that away. A little farther north in Eugene Wayne Goddard and his 5160club meet monthly to play knives and have a hammer in every few months. That would be worth the drive up.

I teach everything from forging, grinding to handles and guard construction. I live in Graeagle on hwy 70 and 89.

I suggest Mike Quesenberry. He can teach you everything you need to know the proper way. Nice guy too.

Next weekend 4/13 & 4/14 is the Oregon Knife Collectors show at the fairgrounds in Eugene Oregon.
If you go to the show you will get to meet a bunch of the locals.
