alright guys let us know what you want to see. probably not the right way to word that seeing as IG will be posting on this thread later.
let us know what demos you're all intersted in and hopefully we can find some people to volunteer to do the demos.

i would really like to see a demo on a framed handle. what do you say mace??
and maybe one on fitting a guard on a full tang knife?? who's up for that one?

hey if i get a crucible in time we could hopefully do a wootz smelt, not that i know what i'm doing but it would be a fun experience :D
 
I will be there with my tappers and some knives for show and tell. I can do a Q&A sort of thing about tapping if anyone is interested. I will also have a bunch of tappers with me, and will offer them at a reduced hammer-in price.

I also think we should have a Yankee Swap Shop sort of thing. I have a bunch of stuff to bring to that - free for the taking. If anyone else wants to put some things in the pot, we can have a redistribution of "stuff" :D

Jeff. The swapping just seems to occur naturally.
Good idea on the tapping.

I'd like to see some damascus being made!

I also will be bringing down a mini-keg. I want to have help drinking it, then I will bring kaowool, satinite, and some other stuff and I need some help making it into a forge, if someone has experience doing that!

I mainly just want to meet the people from the area, since I havent been to a HI before!

I have made around 10+ forge's for the NECKA members. Do you have a forge body????? Look at my website it has a tutorail on how to build one too. :D It's going to be a busy day at the HI. You should come down before the HI and we can make it up. :thumbup:
Get here early and we will show you how to do up cable damascus.

Ive never been to a HI....in fact, Ive never "met" another knifemaker, ever! I feel like an outcast, who has squirreled himeself away and self-taught everything off the web!

Im excited to check everything out, watch some demos....hopefully make or buy some damascus.....

Im bringing a few sets of dyed burl, a hunk of 1/4" D2 that I can't HT and bought by mistake, a few custom folders that I inherited, and whatever else I can scrounge up that someone might want
 
I'd like to see some blueing.

I'm up for whatever Mike, let me know what you need. I've gotten alot more practice this past year...with crowds, too.

I have a nitre salts blueing set up I can drag down. Got some extra salts as well.

Cool Bill. I've had some of th pink salts from Brownells for about 2 years now...I'm planning on using them someday...really.

hey Keith, you should try to make it to this one. its a hell of a time and its nice for getting some materials/hands on time. we can squish out some damascus on the press too. just watch out for IG he's got some tricks up his sleeves :D

Reg. Demos with or without Waffle house hat will depend on weather Kaiser shows up! :eek:

Maybe we could do something with that colabaration blade...like MAKE A GUARD FOR IT. :thumbup: Then I could discus frame handles....A cable or WI frame would be cool.
I would be happy to do a forging demo too if you like......dagger maybe?

I wouldn't mind seeing some Jap cord wrap or some hawk forging, how about file work...
I would also like to see that demo Bill did last time...the "How to catch yourself on fire demo"...that was sweet! :eek: :D
