N00b needs knife

He seems to want something "tacticool" based on his original list. Maybe something form Extrema Ratio?

Spyderco military S90V

+1 if the OP wants a folder  But I have two ZT0200's as well and agree they are beasts of a folder. My guess if you were going to do a Noss test on them the ZT would last longer . . .

Tough? ZT
Novel? Grant and Gavin Hawk's MUDD
Cool looking? Semi-tacticlool

Answer: ZT0500 MUDD

How bout a Gerber LMF II decent enough and will only blow half your funds. (and looks neat)
But I would more suggest that you troll the WTS and WTT forums here and look for what you like and if its lightly used you can save a bundle (or spend a fortune if you have expensive tastes).
Also If you get a user and end up hating it you can recoup your money instead of paying top dollar for something youll regret.
Ah well a bit long winded but you get the idea.

Going out on a limb here, but I suggest a.........................................ZT0200!!/ZT0500!! I'll also mention one more that some may think is a fancy no hard work folder, the Kershaw Tyrade. I've been carry one for the past month and this is a tough as nail folder. The framelock on this knife is as good as it gets as Kershaw really did their homework on it. Course I'm biased about all three knives so take it all with a grain of salt.:)

For a fixed, the Kersaw Outcast in D2 is good and very well priced. Tough as nails. For a folder. The Cold Steel Rajah. 6 inch blade and tough as a tank.

Hey Jim, have you gotten the Rajah yet? Didn't I read where you said you were getting one? I would like to see you do a review on it.:)

:eek:THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! What I hear is that the Spydyerco millies are top notch, the ZT's are tough as hell. And yes, something "tacticool" is exactly what im going for. I havent heard much on the Fox folgore, anyone own that?

HI guys, I have 200 bucks or so to buy a knife, my criteria is: tough, (hopefully) novel in some way, and cool looking (not in the Kit Rae sort of way). I was thinking currahee, fox folgore, ka-bar D2, fox predator, or fox nero. Please recommend others!
Thanks!

If I had that money right know, I wouldn't think it twice...

I would get a Scrap Yard SOD (before they take it out) or a Scrapper 6.
My other thought is a Bark River NorthStar, Bravo 1 or 2 depending on the size you want, and Gameskeeper.

Good Luck

Naw, I live in California, but if you guys know of companies that'll send autos and balis to CA PLEASE let me know.

My favorite folders in your price range are the Zero Tolerance 0200 and the Benchmade Skirmish or Mini Skirmish. Both have recurve blades though and some people don't like recurve blades, because they can be harder to sharpen.

Do you just want something tacticool, but tough/usable, or do you have particular use in mind? Knowing the answer to that might help. Also, you still haven't clarified: Fixed or folder?

Not trying to self promote here, but I can get you a benchmade 32 morpho for a descent price and a couple of days wait since it's christmas time. Problem is there's only one left at my distributor and benchmade is going to stop selling to wholesalers and is only going to distribute directly to dealers now. So that one might go quick, get those BM's while you can. Just letting ya know, J.
