Nail Clippers

Hey you pussies! Who needs a nail clipper having a nice 7"+ heavy chopper on the belt? Just try not to miss, otherwise it gets kind of messy there...
:D :D

Mikel

PD: I also carry them when I go fishing... best tool ever to trim lines after tying the fishing hooks.

You can laugh at my nail clippers now, but I'll be laughing my a$$ off when you are on tv running with the bulls and you get run down :D.

i trim my nails frequently, but if i am out and about and find that my nails are getting a tad long to be comfortable (sometimes an issue gripping knives and axes if the handles are on the small side) i use the side of my pocket sharpening stone to reduce the length. it surprised me a little when i discovered just how well the stone works actually. takes off nail pretty quickly and leaves a nice polished finish.

I have carried nail clippers daily for many years & am looking for a pair of the Wenger Swiss army clippers, they look pretty good.

I've been looking for a good pair for a while. AG Russell has some slim ones that look nice, but the SAK that has clippers in it looks nice too. I RARELY use clippers except on my toes, I've got the bad habit of nibbling on my nails (I know I know). I really like them for certain precise cutting, when scissors sometimes don't do as great of a job. Like removing a small amount of skin to get to a deep splinter, or trimming blisters, loose skin, etc...

Y'know something, that's what I primarily use my nail clippers for; my feet. Sure, I use them on hangnails on my fingers, but i usually just use a nail file to trim them down. I used to bite my nails habitually, and probably still would if they start showing any white on the ends. But I file them down pretty darn short, but still long enough to open a SAK :D

That was a low punch! ;) ;) I never ever went to the ENCIERROS neither to see bull fighting... Can't really undestand the point of picking on a bull and killing it afterwards. My dad went once to run with the bulls and one step on his foot... He promised never to come back.

BTW the place where the most famous ENCIERROS take place is called Pamplona and it is about two hours drive from Bilbao (Spain is pretty small... Texas is bigger!).

I've been carrying these for years, still sharp, and don't take much pocket space. I think they were ground with a little more precision than the ones you'll find in the checkout line. The end of the lever also makes a decent screwdriver/light duty pry bar in a pinch.

It also scares people less than a four inch blade when it's time to trim a string off thier shirt.

in a true survival situation, the last thing you want to do is mke it worse.

The old line of 'big enough to do the job, small enough to do it right" applies to many things. Clippers will do few things a bowie won't, and a bowie will do lots and lots of things clippers can't. but if you are sawing on that cable tie and the bowie goes through part of you, or your partner, or the water skin, or whatever, you may be in much worse shape than when you started.

Having small tools to do the small jobs means there is less "whoops" chances. Won't look nearly as cool as whipping out the katana to trim the hangnail, but spurting blood only looks cool on "them" not "me".
