Nail Polish Resist?

Do I wait till its totally dry? The bee's wax left the edges ragged. I am looking for a cleaner line when hand scribed.

I use nail polish also for a resist - I don't wait for it to dry, I go ahead and scratch it when it is half dry and is still soft enough to leave a permanent indent in it with your scribe. I suppose you have to experiment with it a bit. But I am considering giving it up because it is becoming inconsistent. Jason.
