Nails... Essential for traditional knives?

How do you nail biters pick up coins from a bench or counter?

I remember once having great trouble picking up a coin from the counter at the school canteen because I had trimmed my nails very short. From then on I trimmed the nails on three fingers on each hand short and left the thumb & forefinger a little longer. They are a useful tool for various things - I would rather not be without them.

With great skills or sliding coin over the edge...

Ahh, but there is the problem - sometimes there is a counter that has a lip on the edge so that you can't slide a coin off. This is exactly what happened to me all those years ago when I decided to not trim the thumb and forefinger nails quite so short.

If there's lid, I find way... as I have not yet been able to... bring forth of my great menthal ESP powers and move things with power of my mind... but where's problem, there's solution ^^

Okay folks...let's move on back to the discussion of traditional knives and hope that those nail biters find a way to change their habits.
