I watched a few of the episodes last year when the program first came out. IMHO a stupid concept designed to attract viewers with the "naked" part, but they pixel out most of the nudity anyway. It is a totally unrealistic concept. No way would I do anything as stupid as going into the "boonies" bare-assed! Our "ancestors" didn't - they "evolved" from having fur to "wearing" fur if you believe in evolution, and developed and acquired tools over time. They didn't just pop up, naked with one tool in the middle of nowhere! That said, if I'm going into a "survival" situation, I want my TGLB with me. Along with some chothes and the items I have in my "get home bag". :D
 
I would like something long enough to de-head the anaconda I saw the man shy away from on one show. Of what I currently own - SHSH2 or Dog Father LE...;-)
 
Of course, Andy. LOL!!! This one was coiled around a tree at shoulder height, with only a two foot strike range. A little distraction, swift arc of a DFLE, and you have an eight foot tube steak. This "man" on the show went hungry because he got snake spooked...;-)

BWM would do nicely as well, light enough to swing a lot, long enough to serve as a 'short machete', and comfy for all the smaller tasks, like whittling and skinning.

Something with a big enough sheath to double as a loincloth would cure the naked part, the TTKZ would take care of the rest of the equation needing to be solved. Well, unless the whole point is to make the other guys afraid? Dunno, I don't have TV or the time to watch it and cable money pays for more INFI! :D
