I just got done stripping my Izula. It was a long process since all i had to work with was acetone.

I plan on cleaning it up with a dremel and polishing the entire blade. i cant wait to finish it now.

nope. its very much stripped. it just has a weird patina to it. im gonna hit it with a buffing wheel on the dremel and polish it up though. its gonna be nice and shiny.

that looks nice man, but the thread title was very misleading ;)

hehe, sparked my interest too....

Doesn't look black to me, more like pewter.....? Cool, gonna wrap it, scales or..."naked" when you're done with the finishing?

It's looks good the way it is now. Why don't you leave the knife as is with whatever dignity it's got left! :o How would you like it if someone stripped you naked and then washed you brand spanking clean? ...Sorry, maybe you're not the right one to ask. :D

What color was it initially?

black. i got some 800 grit wetordry sand paper and went at it earlier. its now bare metal. no more patina. it is still very dull though. ive also got some 1000 grit im gonna do on it. I think in the end i will polish the blade and blue the rest of it.

Here is an updated pic of the progress after a little sanding with the 800 grit.
Those are the Glofish me and my GF bought today :)

Sure looks satin now! I like it as it is. What in the world are glofish?
thanks. i cant want to finish. i might end up getting some gunkote instead of blueing it.

the fish are zebra fish that are bred to be fluorescent. They glow under a black light. pretty dang cool if you ask me.

Ive been working on it with the 1000 grit for a while now. It seemed to help a little, but i think im really gonna need the dremel to finish it off. sand paper just isnt gonna cut it for this.
