Does anyone know the whole story with Nalgene bottles that contain BPA? Nalgene says that they are okay for their intended use. As far as I understand, you cannot submit the bottles to extreme cold or extreme heat. Can you safely put them in the dishwasher without releasing harmful carcinogens?

here it is in a nutshell:

you would have to drink approx 1 million liters of water from a nalgene bottle to have any DETECTABLE amount of BPA in your system.

the problem arose when parent were BOILING their baby bottles and/or liners to sterilize them. the constant hot temps would soften and release BPA.

It was and is a massively hysterical overblown pile of doodoo by a bunch of bleeding heart liberal MEC / REI cubicle drones.

Just use your Nalgene bottle, there is NOTHING wrong with it and you wont get sick or BPA or bla bla bla bla bla.
.

enjoy your Nalgene there is NOTHING wrong with it.

FDA recently said there ws nothing to worry about.

Just depends on if you trust the Govt.

You'd have better luck removing your wisdom teeth with SAK tweezers than you would getting sick from BPA in bottles.
