I've been thinking of what handguns I consider "classics." Here are a few I came up with.
1911
Browning Hipower
Colt SAA
Walther PPK

Let's hear some of yours.

CZ 75
S&W Model 10, 60
Colt Python
Charter Arms Bulldog
Ruger Blackhawk
Sig Sauer p226

How old does it have to be to be considered a classic? 42 years old this year the Beretta 92

Well, 2 that have unmistakable profiles and huge influence on the handgun world:
Thompson Center Contender (changed handgun hunting forever)
25acp Baby Browning (FN) .............. it's a Browning!

I would have never thought of the Contender, but you are correct.
Here's another, the S&W 39. Illinois State Police were the first large department to make the switch from revolvers to autoloaders, and the 39 was their choice.

Remington 1100
Marlin 60
Remington 870
Winchester model 70
Remington 700
Glock 17 (classic as far as tactical Tupperware is concerned!)

Wait..... there are other handguns besides the 1911??? Next you're going to tell me something crazy like 1911s come in a caliber other than .45 ACP!

Remington 1100
Marlin 60
Remington 870
Winchester model 70
Remington 700
Glock 17 (classic as far as tactical Tupperware is concerned!)
Good choices but this is about hand guns.
The Glock 17 definitely belongs on the list too.

I'll add the S&W 41 to the list.
