Ruger Standard .22
Do you mean the MK 1 or Single Six? To me both are classics. A lot of great ideas so far.
Have the High Standard 22 pistols been mentioned? I have owned several models and wish I still had the Military I sold.

I mentioned the HS Model H but they also made a not-so-classic called the Double Nine. A nine shot double action revolver that actually looked like a single action. A really fun gun. My mother still has one.

I would like to submit the H&R 999 for consideration also.
I always wanted one, but I always wanted something else more when funds allowed the purchase of a new gun.

this list is begining to look like the complete index from an older Gun Digest or Shooters Bible

Had a 999 with a 4" barrel years ago. Come to think of it, I've owned most of what has been posted here!

I've been buying and trading guns for over 42 years, so I probably have a head start!

How about the broom handle Mauser?
Browning Hi-Power
Walther PPK
Makarov
CZ 75
HK USP
Ruger MK. 2
Desert Eagle?
