Guys, I changed my username. It's still the same old Chang. I changed it after I came to the realization that "Comrade Chang" sounds like one of them communist Red Chinese, and I'm very angry at them for having held our 24 airmen hostage for so long.

Welcome back Chang! Did you ever get the Ruger 10/22 or did you buy a shotgun?

Easyrider,

It's complex...

I was given a Remington 870 Express Super Magnum Turkey by my dad as a gift.

I'll get my Ruger 10/22 when I'm 18 and can just pick it up by myself. Now all I need is my hunter's safety course to get my hunting license.

Can't buy the Ruger 10/22 from an FFL because I'm a minor. In Illinois, it is only legal for a minor to buy a firearm if it is a long gun, he has a firearm owner's ID card which needs parental consent, and the seller is not an FFL. Makes sense, I suppose, having minors able to just walk into a store and buy their own firearm is a bit too lax in this day in age.

As you can imagine, a private party (non-FFL) who wants to trade or sell their Ruger 10/22 is uncommon. Ruger 10/22 is such a great plinking rifle. I got a Firearm Owner's ID already, so I might as well just wait another year and a half and buy it from an FFL instead of looking for someone who wants to trade or sell theirs.

Chang,
Make sure you hold onto your old UserName until Spark hooks up the next upgrade as you may be able to change your name while retaining your number of posts.

Chang,

New Name, OK. But please start posting again! Your sense of humor and logical point of view from the younger set is appreciated.

Low Down Wang Chang Thang! Ching Chang, Walla Walla Bing Bang. How is hanging bro? (no more comrade for you good buddy).

Glad to hear that your political reorientation camp went well and that you have come to understand the evils of communisms (diseases rampant among the filthy back-to-nature free love hippy encampments in the 60's that you were born to young to fully appreciate). Welcome to the world of capitalism.

Your whole future is ahead of you Chang. Become a venture capitalist. Leave the past behind where it belongs. Learn to do things the Amurkin way.

Maybe you could try selling crappy knives made out of cardboard. Emphasize the marketing angle and go for cheap production techniques. Give away a few until word gets out about how Coool your knives are. I hear Americans will buy anything. Especially from China or its quasi-autonomous subsidiaries.

WB Chang!

Welcome back, Chang.

I have also missed your sense of humor, and refreshing point of views.

I know we had some disagreement over the OKG deal in W & C, and I wished you would have heard my side before taking off. I hope we can put that behind us.

Again, welcome back.

Mike

Paracelsus: Political reorientation camp? I used to consider myself a socialist back when I was 12. Boy, kids are stupid. I've been going further and further to the right-wing as time went on. Right is right. What can I say? I'm pretty firmly pro-Republican.

My parents are from Taiwan, but I was born American. God bless America. You'll find that I rarely refer to "China" as "China." I normally call it "Red China." In my opinion, Taiwan is where the true Chinese government is.

A year after its creation, the Changbenza cardboard knife is still the symbol of quality.

CODE 3: Don't worry about it. We can still be friends.

Me and OKG still chat a lot, and he doesn't miss the forum much, so it's behind all of us I think.

RDaneel: I'm back. Hopefully I'll be posting more.

You've been missed Chang. Sorry you felt you had to change your name, I never would have thought of that. Unfortunate that some people stereotype.

Let's see some new blades man!

Brandon

Sorry Chang. It seems I'll have to be a lone dissenting vote, but I liked the old moniker! The word "comrade" brings to mind a sweep of history that is being shuffled under the rug even by the communist Chinese. I thought your choice of that name was refreshingly anti-PC. Indeed I thought that's why you chose it, not because you had to be a communist.

Indeed, it seems like we haven't had enough of an international crisis in a while so the conservatives have blown this little mole hill into a big mountain. First off, spying is an unfriendly act whether done from international waters or not. Second, the Chinese were ultra-respectful of the men (apparantly).

Does anyone remember the Mayaguez (sp?) incident? When the Vietnamese captured an American spy boat off the coast of Vietnam in 1976 or so? That crew was imprisioned for real, and one of them, the chief cryptographer on the ship, was shot in the back of the head by the Americans before the boat was boarded to make sure he couldn't talk! That was U.S. policy back then... Luckily for the plane's crew that policy seems to have liberalized... Perhaps Bush will change that back!

Congratulations on the change of heart concerning your name, Chang. Maybe Timmy The Talking Toilet will have one.

Matt and Bradon, actually I wasn't too worried about people confusing me with a red because my username had "comrade" in it. The Republican advertisement sort of quickly shows that I'm one of those conservatives.
smile.gif
I changed it because I didn't like the word "comrade" in it. I didn't like the sound of it and it bothered me. So I changed it.

Richard,
It's been a long time since I made Changmascus. I think I better finish another batch of Changmascus handle material and put it on another one of my trademark cardboard blades. Thanks for the welcome back. I missed hearing from you. I'll let you know when the next Changmascus product comes out.

Chang,
All I have to say is .......if you have not shot your 3 1/2" 12ga. yet; BE READY WHEN YOU DO. It is the only gun that has ever made me utter obsenities shortly after I squeeze the trigger. This was after I quit crying and could talk again. Good luck.
