Teacher, I haven't fired any 3.5" shells yet, but I've always handled recoil pretty well. I'll make sure I prepare for some pretty heavy recoil.
The first time I fired a 12-gauge, I thought it was fairly light recoil. That was on a Remington 870 as well. That wasn't with super magnum shell though.
RKnight, I worry a lot about Red China invading us. Some of my extended family are Taiwanese living in Taiwan, and it wouldn't be too pleasant for them if the commies invaded. My fear of a Red Chinese invasion of the USA is one of my strongest reasons for supporting gun ownership rights.
