HELP !!!!!
I ran out of my solution I had for etching my name on the blade.I dont want to have to wait to get a order in for some to finish a knife this week so i Thought I would ask.....Who knows how to make a solution for this at home, and how do I make it...

Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Have you tried radio shack? or you could make aqua regia, 25% nitric acid and 25% hydrochloric acid? I haven't tried this but the result can dissolve gold

If your stencils are cut through you could just use gun blue gell but the stencil would have to be the self adesive type

I assume you're talking about electro chemical etching right Bruce?

In a pinch you can use a salt solution since really what you need in an electrolyte. Take some water and dissolve some salt into it. Try a test piece using that. Keep adding salt until you get something decent. I'm not certain of the ratio you'll need though so it'll take some testing.

Bruce, I'll never buy the etching solution again. Like Deker said the salt works just fine. Get you pad good and wet also.
