I got a cool little friction folder at a knife show, but I do not know where it is from or who made it. I don't know if it is a unmarked custom, or a cheap off shore piece. Quality wise it is pretty good. Well centered, solid feel, smooth action good fit, good quality wood scales. The grind appears to be free hand. Any ideas? Have you seen one before?

One other note is I sharpened it and it took an edge better than steels like 8cr13mov. It behaved like D2.

I have a feeling you're right on both fronts. It looks like a cheap offshore custom. Probably hand made after hours in a factory that produces something else. Cool little knife though. For the right price I'd have bought it too. Would be good company at a bbq. Feel like it should cut some limes.

I think I've seen that fastener before on some cheap knives at a gun show is the reason for my assumption. Could be totally incorrect.

I looked around the innerwebs and could not find those fasteners. I think I will take my rockwell test files to it, see what it is hardened to.

For the record it was $20
