Name that pattern

Care to indulge me in the pattern name game!?
...about 6” across the bit and 7 3/4” long.
I can provide dimensions of any of the others if it helps!

Thanks for your time!!

Maybe Helko just called it an American pattern? It looks pretty good even with out ears.

I know nothing to mostly nothing of axes overseas, but G garry3 this seems plausible.
The near flush and flat top from eye to toe doesnt lead me toward a Connecticut and the eye to heel angle is beautiful but doesnt lend toward a dayton-esq pattern either, just my opinion.
I am wrong often, always if you ask my wife. :D

I'll play! Name this 4 inch grinder deluxe pattern. This started out as a beat up michigan pattern Craftsman that I decided to mess around with. I think it looks kind Hoosier-esq. What do y'all think?

Entirely possible Kevin. There are some characters at the base of the crown but as you mentioned that fit the bill but they could be something other than CH.

This one came from Germany, not a local find. We’ll see

I have a hunch this thing is a CH crown as well. Obviously in a more common pattern. Any suggestions on how to get that scale out of the mark would be appreciated. I’ve not attacked it yet as I thought some input before I mangle it might be wise.

If you are just trying to gently clean out that marking and the regular wire wheel isn’t getting into it, I’ve had good success with these little dremel tool attachments that are a little tiny wire brush. Get the smallest straight one pictured below, not the larger conical shaped ones.

If you find they are still too soft you can scratch at it with a thin abrasive stick from a hobby store.

I guess all crowns look somewhat alike. Mine is a C.H. And even though you don't think yours is it looks similar to me? It seemed relevant so i thought I'd share a photo. 15538989534013594876769876748377.jpg

Very nice! The "Made in West Germany" marked axes I have found have over-sized American style eyes. This one is the larger D-shape. I think the handle is Birch, it's just stuck in there.

I think the ram's head mark is Wörder & Pandel but I am not sure what the term for the pattern is. I've come across more well-known patterns and even a large breitbeil with that mark but that one you have looks maybe modeled for export?
