Not depicted in the area between #2 spine and #4 spine is the ang khola "fuller". So what is that called? If the 15" AK's your #1 seller, you ought to include that in the diagram too. Rusty

I would like to hear Kami's comments on the other parts of the khukuri also. Of particular interest would be Nepalese names, significance, and traditional usages for the various parts. He could also comment on how the parts vary between different styles of khukuri.

This could be a very useful and engaging diagram if that type of information were included. The names of the parts could be hyper-linked to information on that part.

Hi,

10 tip (this way towards enemy)

As Rusty indicates the re-enforced spine for the Ang Khola would be interesting to see also.

Other models such as the WWII models are hollowed out as well.

I have been using these terms:
2.Upper spine
3.gutter
4.lower spine
5. I divide the grip into 2 parts (upper and lower since many have 2 types of material), and refer to the middle raised section as a 'ring' or 'ridge'.
6.ferrule
The scabbard is a whole other kettle of fish.

Gutter is a new one on me, John. I call it a blood groove or Sword (also have heard "spear" and "trisul" used) of Shiva.
