I just bought three of these Buck display cases. I'm pretty sure that two of the cutouts are for a Kalinga and a Vanguard or Zipper.

Any ideas what the other two are supposed to fit from the shape of the cutouts? For now I'm assuming they are for fixed blades, but I'm not sure.

Wasn't there a Founders Edition or some name like that that had four favorite fixed blades of Buck family. Could that be it. Funny that I am the one answering.....

I found it in the 2002 catalog. I should have checked there first, but I seem to have a case of "oldtimers" lately.:(
They were called the Family Favorites. The cases will be great even if I don't have the exact knives to fill the holes (yet).

Nature abhors a vacuum.......for example--an empty spot in a display case.

That 110 Blacksmith Shop sounds interesting. Can someone put up a photo of it?

I hoped that they would do a "First Shop" handle on the 110, (like the Cabelas First Shop Bowie) but I haven't seen it if they have.

Here's the Blacksmith shop from the same year. It wasn't one that came in the big case, but came in a case of it's own. I love the burl handles and display case so well, I've picked up three of these. The handles are Elderwood Burl.

Thanks Plumber for posting the photos . I really like a mirror polished blade w/ gold etching . DM

Thanks for posting. That looks like a nice little knife. I wouldn't mind owning one, but I doubt I could find a seller who would want to part with it for less than a fortune :)
